As we approach the June 2026 transition of Project Janszoon’s work to the Department of Conservation, a review of the park’s WIFI network found that it was aging and in need of significant investment to maintain an acceptable standard.
DOC and Project Janszoon agreed that upgrading the system was uneconomic, and it should be decommissioned.
Whilst we know that the WIFI system has been useful for many people over the years, it’s expected that satellite technology will soon offer an alternative connectivity option.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note the Abel Tasman App will continue to be available but recommend downloading it before heading into the Park.
